Many ECLAT visitors knew the always radiant and optimistic Maria Kalesnikava, who enriched our MDJ team with her communication talent. And many, like ourselves, admiringly followed the development of the Stuttgart artist and activist into an important figure of the Belarusian democracy movement. With the award of the Human Rights Prize to Maria Kalesnikava, Gerhart and Renate Baum send an important signal to support a courageous nation on the way to freedom and self-determination.
