In 2020 we didn’t just lose our own accustomed normality but also the Stuttgart musician Maria Kalesnikava who, as a Belarusian opposition politician, is in prison in Minsk as a result of her political convictions. The music performance weiss/rot/weiss (white/red/white) for turntable, saxophone and electronics is a reflection on the influences, symbols and aesthetic elements experienced in contact with the political process in Belarus. Shortly before Christmas 2020, weiss/rot/weiss (white/red/white) reminded us of this ongoing situation which, despite all efforts, has not improved.
